DESCRIPTION:
APW - Illinois, Pennsylvania Special "26 Ruby Jewels," GF OF case, SW-LS, WE-DS "Pennsylvania Special" dial with Gothic numerals, fully capped lever escapement, capped third wheel, jeweled barrel arbor, internally jeweled barrel, 26J, two-tone damascene with bright spotted pattern intersected by concentric gilt rings, s#1742860. Total production of the 26J Pennsylvania Special is believed to be 135 made, with serials spanning from 1742801 to 1724935. Sold in our galleries in 2012.
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, excellent mvt condition overall, fine plates show even toning, good color definition, sparse microspeckle, very few MFS, fine slots & fine to near mint settings, hardly any oxide on bright work; dial unfortunately damaged, many small repaired chips and hls; hands in fine blue, dulling from light oxide; case shows little wear, some MFS, no dents or dings; bow tight, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal. But for the dial, a very fine example internally.
